What's On

Mala Music Session, 21st February 2010

This Sunday, 21st February, from 4-6 pm The 3 Bridies return to Don Quijote in Mala for another afternoon of Irish traditional & folk music.

3 BridiesThis follows their super successful first Sunday session a few weeks ago.

The three girls, Kate from Dublin, Clare a Northerner and Jacqueline from the Scottish Highlands have got together an easy listening, chilled set which takes inspiration from the Celtic woman show. There is a fascinating mix of traditional songs. Many of which have been reworked with a modern twist, together with some more current hits. This Sunday session just roars along with a real feel-good flavour.

On the previous session we arrived at Don Quijote restaurant in Mala on a blistering hot afternoon and settled on the shady terrace to enjoy the music. Cool beers where very much the order of the day and came “German style” with really frothy tops. The food is also well worth a mention: really tasty homemade tapas as well as a comprehensive lunch and dinner menu. We enjoyed a selection of tapas including a few more unusual dishes, the baked leeks were heavenly and the sticky chicken wings really tasty.  read more »
