Tourism Department Seeking to curb “Fake sickness” claims from British tourists

The tourism department met with the hoteliers association ASOLAN and the confederation of employers if Lanzarote this week to discuss the issue to “Fake sickness claims” made by British tourists, which are having an impact on hotel’s costs. It has previously been reported that agents, acting for “No win, no fee” organisations in the UK have targeted tourists to seek compensation after returning from holiday on the island for various sickness bugs. A Tourist Attention Minister will be appointed, supported by Guardia Civil investigators to look at future claims. It’s an issue which affects all of Spain, not just The Canary Islands, and the tourism department are seeking talks with the British government to try to find a solution-  read more »

Another Record Year For Lanzarote Tourism

2016, as expected, proved to be another record year for tourism in Lanzarote. More than 2.9 Million visitors came to the island, just over 10% up on the previous year, and an incredible 37% increase since 2012. Every year since 2012 has shown growth, with the last few years setting all time records.

About 60% of our visitors come here on package holidays, with the balance organising the elements of their holiday themselves.  read more »

Sunday Worship Lanzarote Celebrating 10 Years

The team at Sunday Worship Lanzarote are inviting everyone to join them in celebrating their 10th anniversary.

The church which is registered as an interdenominational church is overseen by Joe Vasquez the Superintendent Pastor. Joe now lives in Fuertaventura and travels on the first Sunday of each month to lead the service and celebrate Holy Communion.  read more »
