Lanzarote Restaurant Review - Esencia, Costa Teguise

Esencia is located in the Melia Salinas 5 star hotel in Costa Teguise, and is open to both people staying there and those who are not. We’d heard that they offered a special experience with excellent food, so we decided to treat ourselves, with friends, to a meal there to see for ourselves.

Esencia Entrance  Esencia Terrace

To access Esencia you need to walk through reception and toward the swimming pools, and if you then turn right, you will see the restaurant ahead of you. The building is very much like a traditional Canarian house, with an inside eating area as well as a large terrace which looks out over the beach. The ambience is lovely on a hot summer evening.

Esencia Roulade  Esencia Salmorejo

We had booked online through their website, and had received a total of 4 confirmations by email! When we arrived, however, the waitress didn’t seem to be expecting us, but as there was only one other person in the restaurant, we were able to choose the table we preferred on the terrace.  read more »

Lanzarote Restaurant Review, Mercado Diecisiete

I can’t believe Mercado Diecisiete has been open for more than a year now and it’s our first time of eating there, time passes so quickly.

Mercado Diecisiete Interior

This restaurant is situated in Pueblo Marinero, the popular square in the heart of Costa Teguise. The square was buzzing, it was Friday night and the bars with outside tables were packed, we arrived at Mercado Diecisiete and was surprised to find it quiet, we received a friendly welcome and were offered a table of our choice.

Mercado Diecisiete Muebles

We were only planning on a main meal but was persuaded to have a little starter to share with our bottle of wine, the bread with tomato and Iberian ham was just right.   read more »
