Too Many Vested Interests Stifling The Economy

It was a pleasure to write this article recently about the way the economy on the island is improving: Lanzarote’s economic recovery

But ridiculous over-legislation, often pushed by vested interests on the island continues to stifle real expansion from new businesses and entrepreneurs, and its time Lanzarote in particular and Spain in general learned some lessons in this regard.

Lanzarote's Economic Recovery

Here in Spain, the recession is known as “La Crisis.” And just like the Spanish peninsular, Lanzarote suffered quite badly during the depths of the recession, with construction almost coming to a standstill and many shops and businesses closing their doors for the last time.
