Why Lanzarote?

Why do people come to Lanzarote for their holidays? Is it because of…….

Lanzarote is an all year round destination, even during winter months we still have daytime temperatures above 20 degrees, an average of 7 hours sunshine and an annual rainfall equivalent to 2 days rain in the UK.

Flights to Lanzarote are only 4 hours from UK & Ireland which means that you don’t lose a day of your holiday unlike travelling to a long haul destination, you can fly first thing and be on the beach by lunchtime!

Cheaper Holidays in Lanzarote

When the Global Recession hit in late 2008 little did we know just how long it was going to take the markets to recover. Thankfully it seemed that the one “luxury” that families didn’t want to give up was their annual holiday and although the visitor numbers to Lanzarote dropped in 2009, they have steadily increased in an upward trend through 2010 and 2011.

Arrivals in Lanzarote:

2008 = 5,438,178

2009 = 4,701,669

2010 = 4,938,343

2011 YTD = 4,712,447 (NB only Jan to Oct figures but a 12.6% increase on the same period in 2010)

Holidays have changed during this period, we’ve seen an increase in flights from budget airlines between the UK and Lanzarote as well as an increase in all inclusive holiday accommodation.  Typically people are booking their flights and accommodation separately in an attempt to secure the best priced deal possible for their holiday. Ones that have booked package holidays in the past are opting for all inclusive stays so that they can control their costs with food and drink being the major expense when away from home.
