Lanzarote Restaurant Review, Vesubio

Miguel wanted a pizza! We were in Costa Teguise, it was a weekday lunch time and we thought we’d try somewhere different to eat.

Restaurante Pizza Vesubio Restaurante Vesubio Costa Teguise

Lot’s of places offer pizza, we were in the Playa Jablillo area of the resort when the Restaurant Pizzeria Grill Vesubio caught our eye. Situated on the sea front, right on the point of Avenida del Jablillo, this restaurant looks out over the beach. We made ourselves comfortable on the large shady terraced area whilst the waiter brought the menus.

The first thing that struck me was that the clientele was mainly Spanish. Our waiter was very good, he enthusiastically told us about each of the daily specials which sounded delicious before taking our drinks order whilst we browsed the menu. Miguel picked a  read more »

Lanzarote Restaurant Review, Terraza

We tend not to eat in the more obvious restaurants aimed at tourists but recently we were meeting friends in Terraza in Puerto del Carmen.

Terraza Restaurant Puerto del Carmen

Terraza was one of the many restaurants owned by Lani, it’s in a prime situation on the main Avenida along the front in Puerto del Carmen close to the casino.

We were meeting up with four friends who were over here training for the Ironman Lanzarote event, they were starving after completing the full Ironman cycle course of 180km, they had burnt off over 5,000 calories during the ride!

We arrived at about 8.30pm and the place was heaving, there were only a  read more »

Care Home Service in Lanzarote

We recently visited a small residential care home based in the picturesque seaside village of Arrieta in the North of Lanzarote.

We were completely unaware of the CuraVital care home in the North of the island, despite living in the area for years. Another expat and resident of Haría Lesley Stephens mentioned it to us as she works as a nurse there, we were invited to go and meet the team to find out more.

The home looks just like any other house from the outside and is situated ideally between the centre of the village and the beach. We were welcomed at the care home by Tom Kalisch and Jana Kaiser both of whom speak excellent English. Tom is the administrator as well as counsellor and trained in emergency medicine, Jana looks after the care management and is a qualified geriatric nurse. There is a team of seven speaking German, Spanish & English based at the residential home, their services also expand to cover the island of Lanzarote with care in the home for senior citizens too.
