Football Lanzarote, Lanzarote 3, C.D. Vera 1

16th May 2011

U.D. Lanzarote are Champions of the Third division (fourth tier) following a comfortable home win and with the help of our good friends in Tenerife that beat Las Palmas B the Rojillos win the league title by a point.

The day began with Las Palmas B league leaders by two points but still needing a win away in Tenerife against 14th placed side C.D. Laguna. Sulphuring My Grape Vines

I’m wandering around our garden in Lanzarote, really quite pleased with myself for the waft of bad eggs permeating the air.

Sulphur Grape vines sulphured

For the past two years I have been meaning to sulphur the grape vines before they have an attack of powdery mildew (also known as oidium) which is caused by the fungus Uncinula necator. For one reason or another it hadn’t been done and each year the grapes grew but then developed mildew. This year I  read more »
