September is a lovely month for weather in Lanzarote. It’s not perfect blue sky all day every day but we have an average temperature of 30 degrees with light winds, gorgeous sunrises / sunsets and flat calm seas. There were some exceptions to this during September 2010!
It was a warm start to the month with perfect conditions for the new Ocean Lava Lanzarote Triathlon on the 5th September, a cloudy start with calm seas clearing to be a beautiful sunny afternoon for the photo finish.
A Yellow alert was issued for heavy rain in the province of Las Palmas, we were told to expect a downpour of up to 15 litres per m2 on the 6th September but nothing came of it.
We did get some rain on the morning of the 13th September and it was very windy in Puerto del Carmen on the 15th blowing a palm tree down outside MacDonald's on The Strip. We also had a spectacular lightening show through the night. read more »

After going a goal down the Rojillos turn the score line on its head in the space of 10 minutes to go sole leaders of the third division.
The Tenerife side did not let the joint league leaders settle on the ball. The Rojillos midfield engine enjoyed possession but hardly any of the play was in the opponents final third.
The first moment of danger occurred in the 12th minute. A free kick from the Lanzarote Captain Rubén Rodríguez came crashing back off the wall. C.D. Laguna then began to look the more likely to break the deadlock. In the 20th minute left back Javi Marrero saw his strike from edge of the area graze the top of the bar.
The visitors took the lead in the 35th minute. An 18 yard shot from midfielder Samuel beat the Rojillos keeper Alejandro and gave the Tenerife side the 0-1 advantage. After a poor opening half the Conejeros (locals) couldn’t moan going into the break a goal down. read more »
The Go Karting track in Lanzarote is offering local businesses and organisations a chance participate in the San Bartolomé Grand Prix Racing League. Local pubs, companies and associations can enter a team of 4 drivers plus a stand in driver in a league of 8 teams to race against each other.
The racing league is the creation of owner John Spinks who wanted to create an enjoyable and affordable amateur Go Kart Racing League in Lanzarote. Initially the teams will race the 200cc karts on the hillside track but as the drivers get more experienced, John explained that he has a variation of 10 different track layouts and has promised to bring the 390cc karts in for some races, keeping the drivers on their toes! read more »
