New Bus Service To Playa Blanca

The Cabildo of Lanzarote announced a new hourly bus service today connecting the resorts of Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca.

The existing line 60 will be restructured from Monday 27th June to start bypassing Puerto del Carmen, Vazquez Alvarez the new Minister of Transport at the Cabildo said that the the changes connecting Arrecife, Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca benefit the many people who work in the South but also tourists visiting the island.

Many people considering moving to Lanzarote want to know about the possibilities they have of finding a job where they can continue their chosen career path.

Dogs Prohibited From Famara Beaches

There are signs on the beaches in Famara prohibiting dogs from the area but following complaints, the Perrera Municipal have announced the launch of a campaign of vigilance on these beaches.

Salt Carpets in Lanzarote 2011

The first of the Alfombras de Sal (salt carpets) events will be held this evening in the old capital of Teguise, Lanzarote.


The Teguise salt carpets will be created in the Plaza de Santo Domingo from 6pm on Wednesday 22nd June. The tradition is part of the Corpus Christi ceremony when the church procession walks over the carpets.

Exhibition: Jaime Romero, Haría Sociedad

Lanzarote artist Jaime Romero from Máguez has an exhibition on display until Sunday 26th June.

The collection entitled “Entre Mareas” which translates to “Between Tides” features different views of the countryside and sea. Jaime uses the technique of textured acrylic paint on canvas to create his art.

La Isla Sumergida The exhibition is at the CSC La Tegala (sociedad) in the plaza in the centre of Haria and part of the San Juan fiestas so you can combine a visit with any of the events until it closes on Sunday.

Carrera de Montaña San Marcial del Rubicón, 9th July 2011

A new 10km mountain race in Lanzarote was announced recently, the Carrera de Montaña San Marcial del Rubicón will be held in Femés on the 9th July.
