A new weekly artisan craft market called the Paseo Artesanal has opened in the Pueblo Marinero square in Costa Teguise.

Lanzarote Football Coach Quits

Quico de Diego will not coach the U.D. Lanzarote football team for the 2011 – 2012 season.

Quico de Diego U D Lanzarote courtesy Sergio Betancort Francisco Javier de Diego Díaz better known as “Quico de Diego” was expected to coach the team for another season but after failing to reach an agreement to renew his contract the club are now looking to alternatives.

Distance Footpaths in Lanzarote

The Canarian Government announced plans on the 16th June to renovate long distance walking paths on the island of Lanzarote.

The announcement was made through the Dirección General de Desarrollo Sostenible del Medio Rural (Director General for Sustainable Development of Rural Areas) and the Cabildo of Lanzarote. Lanzarote Wine Run 2011, Results

Lanzarote’s José Carlos Hernández and British athlete Eleanor Dick won their weight in wine, as winners of the third Lanzarote Wine Run 2011 yesterday.

Walkers start Lanzarote Wine Run

The half marathon distance run of 21.1 km was completed in a time of 01:15:16 for José and 01:43:20 for Eleanor. The day dawned warm to strange cloud formations and even rain in Tinajo before the race start at 10am. Conditions were tough during the run with extremely hot temperatures, there was little breeze and no cloud coverage during the route through the wine region.

Want To Be A Taxi Driver In Arrecife?

The Department of Transport in Arrecife (concejalía de Transportes) have released dates for drivers wishing to take tests for a permit to become a taxi driver in the municipality.
