Remodelling Of Avenida Continues

Tias Ayuntamiento has announced plans to continue the remodelling of Puerto del Carmen’s famous “Strip.” Specifically, they will be carrying out works in the section around the San Antonio Hotel, to join up with the main avenida and the section around Playa Los Pocillos, adding a bike lane and with the intention of increasing parking in that area. Mayor Pancho Hernandez is aware that the previous work reduced parking in the avenida by some 300 spaces, so an attempt will be made to increase spaces in the new section, but staying true to the general aim of reducing traffic on the strip.  read more »

Papagayo Campsite 2017

The Papagayo campsite in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote known as the Área de Acampada de Papagayo, is due to open for the summer on Wednesday 21st June until Sunday 17th September 2017.

The registration form can be downloaded from this link which should be printed, completed and taken in person to the Juventud department on the first floor of the Cabildo de Lanzarote building in Arrecife, from 08:00 to 14:00 on Monday and Tuesday of next week. From 12:00 on Wednesday 21st June 2017 reservations can be made directly at the campsite.  read more »

Roaming With Your Devices On Holiday In Lanzarote

As of 15th June 2017, a new EU law has come into effect which gives all EU citizens an entitlement to “Roam like at home.” For most of you who visit Lanzarote, it means you will be able to take advantage of our excellent 4g coverage while on holiday here.

English Cinema at Cine Lanzarote, 19th & 22nd June 2017

The only Cine Lanzarote movie in English at next week is the "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" and it will be shown both on Monday and Thursday at 19:25h at Multicines Atlántida in Arrecife.

Lanzarote Wine Run & Traditional Cuisine Festival 2017 Programme

Over 1,900 participants have registered to take part in this year’s Wine Run on Sunday 18th June 2017.

The 345 runners for the Long Race (23,4 km) will start at 9:00 from the bodega La Florida. The Short Race (12 km) reached the maximum number of entries, the 500 runners will depart at 9.30 and the 1,082 walkers will depart at 9.45, both of these groups leave from La Geria at the junction with the road from Tinguatón. 

The 9th edition of this event will be staged in Uga. Participants can collect their race numbers on Saturday 17th June from 16:00 to 20:00 on Saturday in the Plaza de Uga. Buses will depart from this location on Sunday, the Long Race runners at 7:15 and 7:50, the Short Race runners & walkers at 7:30 and 8:30.  read more »
