If you are visiting the island and are unfamiliar with the place, this is great exhibition to see as it's almost like a trip round the landscapes and countryside of Lanzarote. The imagery clearly depicts various scenes from the lava fields and volcanoes, in striking colour and bold compositions. Spiky cactus, palm trees and the traditional Lanzarote houses are shown, set in amazing landscape. The larger pieces on show include many elements in one composition, patterns of fields, rows of plants, crops and flowers in bloom. read more » |

On the surface this is perhaps a thought provoking theme for an exhibition in a gallery which was once a chapel, the building itself situated in the heart of Tías was originally built in 1800. Now a gallery with a beautiful wooden beamed ceiling the actual space is divided in two by arches, still retaining some sense of a church. The gallery easily accommodates the work of the 10 Spanish artists who feature in this mixed show. The exhibition presents a broad range of work and includes sculpture, painting, photography, illustration, graphic design, fashion, literature and mixed media, visually rich and varied, each artist provides a unique interpretation or response to the theme of prostitution which has been interpreted in its widest sense. read more » |

As a visitor wandering through the museum, its easy to be struck by the very tranquil setting, the ancient and rustic feel of the place and the complexity and number of wine making tools, barrels and instruments. The exhibition itself is an amazing series of aerial photographs of the surrounding landscapes. These stunning views, with their rich natural textures and colours easily compliment the rustic setting. Mainly large scale, they show a range of breathtaking sights including Montana Colorado, Volcan del Cuervo and an aerial view of the bodega El Grifo itself. As a refreshing look at these views the photographs live up to the exhibition title which can be translated as 'life is great'. read more » |
